<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;"><b>Today’s Writing Prompt:</b> Write about something that you unexpectedly had a hard time saying goodbye to.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I have said a lot of goodbyes. To different people and places and to different possessions as I've gotten rid of them. I can't think of an instance where I've had an exceptionally hard time with it though. It's actually usually the opposite. </span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Old houses are the hardest, but have become easier to say goodbye to. I've probably moved 8 or 9 times in the past 5 years (since I graduated from high school). Some of these were only temporary living situations to begin with, so they're not hard to leave, but there have been others where I intended to stay longer, but I have moved whenever a lease has run out.</span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232;">The easiest goodbyes for me are actually with people. I've lost a handful of really good friends since high school ended for various reasons, and I've learned that it doesn't affect me as much as it probably does other people. Most of the problems have come up because of the age I'm at. I think college kids have a lot of growing to do, and it can be hard to maintain friendships throughout the various stages of growth. All of the friends I've lost I feel like have been at a different point in their growing up than I was, and it caused problems. I always felt that I was giving a genuine effort to make things work, but oftentimes they weren't returning that effort. So in those cases I've been able to walk away and rarely look back. In the future, if I were to run into those people I wouldn't have a problem sitting down and talking to them, but if we're still at such drastically different points I refuse to let their negativity into my life. I try to surround myself with positive people, because I believe </span><i style="font-size: x-large;"><span style="color: #351c75;">happiness is a choice</span></i><span style="color: #f1c232;">, and I don't need other people making that harder for me to achieve.</span><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">So, I wrote for more than 5 minutes. I just got started on a topic and had to finish. And it's not entirely what the prompt was asking for, but I don't care. I like doing Stream of Consciousness, because it really gets me thinking, and sometimes bending the rules and stretching the time is necessary for me. I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much otherwise.</span>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;">This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<ul>
<li style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #0b5394;">Set a timer and write for 5 minutes</span></li>
<li style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #0b5394;">Write and intro to the post if you want, but don't edit the post. No proofreading or spellchecking. This is writing in the raw.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #0b5394;">Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #0b5394;">Add the Stream of Consciousness Sunday badge to your post.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #0b5394;">Link up your post at <a href="http://allthingsfadra.com/" target="_blank">all things fadra</a>.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #0b5394;">Visit your fellow bloggers and show some love.</span></li>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Today was Garrett's 100th day of kindergarten. All morning until lunch time the kindergarten classes rotated to different rooms doing fun activities to celebrate. My boyfriend and I both got to go and help out. It was a very fun morning for everyone.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Garrett and I talked about the 100th day and making something cool for it, and he wanted to make a gigantic snake. So we decided to make the snake in the shape of '100' and gave him stripes with 100 m&ms. Garrett seemed satisfied with it, and his friends all seemed to like it, so I think it was a success. The glue melted the m&m's so there was color leaking all over the project, but it wasn't too bad.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">The doorway into the kindergarten hall was decorated with a super fun poster.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I got to the school late, so I missed the class doing a 100th day scavenger hunt.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">The first thing I got to see was 100th day King/Queen crowns. The kids all got to decorate Steak and Shake hats with the number 100 and some various shapes and stickers. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Garrett was actually almost willing to have his picture taken for once.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">After they made their crowns the teacher told them a story as they sat on the rug. They're supposed to sit 'criss-cross applesauce' but Garrett apparently decided it was time to get comfortable.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">They all got to sign their names on this "I am 100 days smarter!" sheet. I love seeing all the different signatures. One little boy circled his name after writing it. Garrett for some reason started writing his sideways down the paper. One of the girls wrote hers huge taking up a big chunk of the paper.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Everyone in the kindergarten classes was given a number between 1 and 100 to decorate a couple of weeks ago. As they brought them back to school they got hung in the hallway until the entire wall was completed. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Garrett's snake was hanging up outside his classroom. He's the only one that had a creative project. Most of the others were just 100 pennies or cheerios in a plastic bag.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEtFgnHiC03ZQMRlSoc2fsUFh51TaRRuFZOkC2jH5v6h4rAtzDhg7LkWOhnA0vnwczR7m_pS9OjbQkC4PFJRrKZrynQEMzSMtaQI96rnMz0Cuc5onXeukM2-Ql_aWFT09oNG0MmsmQMPc/s1600/SAM_1053.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEtFgnHiC03ZQMRlSoc2fsUFh51TaRRuFZOkC2jH5v6h4rAtzDhg7LkWOhnA0vnwczR7m_pS9OjbQkC4PFJRrKZrynQEMzSMtaQI96rnMz0Cuc5onXeukM2-Ql_aWFT09oNG0MmsmQMPc/s320/SAM_1053.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I'm not sure what he was saying here, but he was eating the 100 day snack he'd just made. The kids counted out 10 of 10 different things then got to sit down and eat it. 10 marshmallows, 10 pretzels, 10 m&ms, 10 cocoa puffs, 10 cheetos, 10 chocolate chips, 10 white chocolate chips, 10 fruit loops, 10 cheerios, and 10 goldfish crackers. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Then they went in the next classroom to make '100' masks. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Garrett finished his mask and just looked dreadfully bored. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Luckily for him everyone else started finishing up and they sat down to sing this 100th Day Chant. (it sounds like the seven dwarfs song)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9-CA2hwQ2l7q5m20R21aMtyt8mVfar4subgt2_mkS-g9HL_RF931uQ04IGgbbT7HkXyQSirjTMZgoPnMX0dOwymruKKPV5nzsXXCzOSnj3syObxyk3mHXjh9YjMumPyqUAP_u_VTk8tA/s1600/SAM_1058.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9-CA2hwQ2l7q5m20R21aMtyt8mVfar4subgt2_mkS-g9HL_RF931uQ04IGgbbT7HkXyQSirjTMZgoPnMX0dOwymruKKPV5nzsXXCzOSnj3syObxyk3mHXjh9YjMumPyqUAP_u_VTk8tA/s320/SAM_1058.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Finally they were back in their classroom where they did 10 sets of 10 different exercises. Garrett smiled for this picture during bicep raises then decided he wasn't exercising any more and stood there completely still for the rest of the time.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilifdTBTwJurbyOTr0YKX6_lwUcYbWMUoKxbC6j6QLRRikVjNTxT2_vYwuGoKHZ07CoPSUH3KyEhsiU_Quu2XAEqmzccARQZWOk4bylWlZu5DKFTV-U-9CkkpqsNxT-TJG5_RweEewOec/s1600/SAM_1061.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilifdTBTwJurbyOTr0YKX6_lwUcYbWMUoKxbC6j6QLRRikVjNTxT2_vYwuGoKHZ07CoPSUH3KyEhsiU_Quu2XAEqmzccARQZWOk4bylWlZu5DKFTV-U-9CkkpqsNxT-TJG5_RweEewOec/s320/SAM_1061.jpg" width="240" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">All that exercising made for some hungry 6 year olds. Lunch was the next stop. Then all the helpers left and it was back to normal for the afternoon. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I've made laundry detergent and fabric softener, so I decided it was time to make dishwasher detergent. </span></div>
<span style="color: #f1c232;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">It's something else that's really easy to make. Only 3 ingredients!</span></div>
<span style="color: #f1c232;">
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">2 cups borax, 2 cups baking soda, 4 packets <i>unsweetened</i> lemon kool-aid</span></div>
<span style="color: #f1c232;">
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Mix it all together well. Use 2 tbsp. per load.<br />I put 1 tbsp. in the closed section of the dishwasher and the other 1 tbsp. spread on the door.</span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="color: #f1c232;">
</span><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPmOL3U_nZn45kxD9HVlkLtnSCR9tyv-pnv4bQTren5gYQjx6pu0_0jA3-LLQ9wOo-4qjMArfH1uhG2hR9GX27fb-9dtVKZGddqHe8lEWBwLcvSsSfeXDflmtos4p0kEN2eHlIpthlihY/s1600/SAM_1037.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPmOL3U_nZn45kxD9HVlkLtnSCR9tyv-pnv4bQTren5gYQjx6pu0_0jA3-LLQ9wOo-4qjMArfH1uhG2hR9GX27fb-9dtVKZGddqHe8lEWBwLcvSsSfeXDflmtos4p0kEN2eHlIpthlihY/s320/SAM_1037.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My dishwasher detergent has 25% less sugar! lol. <br />My endless collection of empty containers has really come in handy lately.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I only made a half batch, because I wasn't sure how I'd like it, but it turned out really well, and I'll definitely make a regular sized batch next time. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Nearly everything in the dishwasher came out completely clean. A couple of things still had some stuck on food, but that happens even with the expensive store bought detergent. I'm pretty sure my dishwasher just sucks. All the clean dishes were great though.<br />I also put vinegar in the rinse aid compartment, and I think that's what's worked better than anything. Vinegar seems to work better than any rinse aids I've ever bought.</span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I used the recipe I found from this pin:</span><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">So I've decided that Fridays and Saturdays just aren't good blogging days for me. </span></div>
<span style="color: #f1c232;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I'm going to try to blog the rest of the week from now on, but until I can get better at having blogs prepared ahead of time I'll definitely not be trying to blog every day.</span></div>
<span style="color: #f1c232;">
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="color: #f1c232;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.allthingsfadra.com/" target="_blank" title="all.things.fadra"><img alt="#SOCsunday" border="0" src="http://allthingsfadra.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/SOCSunday-badge.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
It's not quite over yet, but I figured I'll use today's Stream of Consciousness to talk about my first experience with NaBloPoMo. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I think it was really good for getting me into the swing of blogging. I liked having a goal for my first real month of this blog. I missed a few days here and there, but I don't mind it. I still feel like I accomplished quite a bit, and it will help me from this point forward. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I want to slow down a bit in the near future and give myself a chance to get posts built up and written ahead of time, because for right now I've been writing every day about a project I also did that day. I want to get to a better point, so if something comes up I don't feel stressed to get something up since I'll have something ready to get put up anyway. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I enjoyed having a place to go everyday after posting and seeing what others had written that day. I found quite a few blogs that I really enjoy through the NaBloPoMo page. I have a feeling I'll still follow it a bit so I can find more interesting people, but I don't like the pressure that it put on me for most of the month. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Overall I feel a lot more comfortable with blogging than I did at the beginning of the month. I still have a long way to go, but I've now got 28 (this makes 29) posts under my belt, and feel like I've got many, many more to come.</span></div>

<span style="color: #0b5394;">This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<ul>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I've been wanting something with avocado for a while lately, and had the idea to put it on a grilled cheese. Well, I decided that a normal grilled cheese wasn't gonna do it for me, and started thinking of things to add to it. I really enjoyed what I ended up with.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho7zXxIl0Q8QdAXAtXHEP9o_fjlez9TRaXSkCnPcv8Pm9whkz4dX-vGF8NeydwTY1q1J0IE26SdoGTIHzJntN2EF8Jz352-C9biLPj0JOv0EAfcoF-7ON7y-35ttSGxl9ZojoTOIHNBjE/s1600/SAM_1010.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho7zXxIl0Q8QdAXAtXHEP9o_fjlez9TRaXSkCnPcv8Pm9whkz4dX-vGF8NeydwTY1q1J0IE26SdoGTIHzJntN2EF8Jz352-C9biLPj0JOv0EAfcoF-7ON7y-35ttSGxl9ZojoTOIHNBjE/s320/SAM_1010.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">An avocado, bacon, and swiss grilled cheese.<br />It also had a bit of cheddar and some grilled onions.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I grilled the onions with some butter on the griddle and cooked the bacon (In the oven. I burn it on the stove every time.)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjodRq7QU1ltWM2UycYURR5ruF596z6bKRi-9_6zNPByVSdfoFjw8qMGfScQbkx6TWomoExbSxeaKDTggSarQeNm2XyDpoZppQhHUhyPrt_jCwj6EKWtBnh_mU-kv1tbKYuv0CxYqJ0gYc/s1600/Picnik+collage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" height="160" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjodRq7QU1ltWM2UycYURR5ruF596z6bKRi-9_6zNPByVSdfoFjw8qMGfScQbkx6TWomoExbSxeaKDTggSarQeNm2XyDpoZppQhHUhyPrt_jCwj6EKWtBnh_mU-kv1tbKYuv0CxYqJ0gYc/s320/Picnik+collage.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">When the bacon finished cooking I started the grilled cheese. I just split the toppings between the two pieces of bread and put the sandwich together when the outside was done. It ended up being so good. I love the taste of the bacon with the avocado. So delicious! This is my new favorite version of grilled cheese. Can't wait to make it again.</span></div>

<span style="color: #f1c232;">And has anyone ever grown an avocado tree from the pit? My mom always did this when she had avocados, but I don't remember it ever actually getting past the root stage. I decided to try it on my own. </span></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5tej_7d9f9pZGIz42ZPzg2zAlB7hsieBo9pZLU5bCm5cxB7Fm99Wa5x9RbYHhuqIwr5xiuc6g50rsgEEpGPuJFlf4jbPZV3gjJswwGJCiCSqXlCtOdu-FXP-0lYwmN7jh8RQjFX2jfdU/s1600/Picnik+collage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" height="260" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5tej_7d9f9pZGIz42ZPzg2zAlB7hsieBo9pZLU5bCm5cxB7Fm99Wa5x9RbYHhuqIwr5xiuc6g50rsgEEpGPuJFlf4jbPZV3gjJswwGJCiCSqXlCtOdu-FXP-0lYwmN7jh8RQjFX2jfdU/s320/Picnik+collage.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I have no clue where I first got the idea of covering a light switch cover. I know when I was in middle school I covered a couple of different switches in the house with pretty pictures out of flower catalogs. I got the urge to do it again, and this time I wanted something other than flowers. One of the local Dollar Trees gets old comic books occasionally, and I always buy a few. I usually give them to Garrett, but for some reason had a stack of them around that hadn't made it into his hands yet. I flipped through one of them and found a couple of things I liked, and cut them out.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOG3vIC6p6-V3TyVOnvvOM_qMPwITnYXD4wBucsHNVRlNButl1udfOE6rM2uUr500P30UaYXyPHrQKSp6SMpfUymSVM3AVec1ZJAZpAaodyjCKtQnpNS6FsfBOMcdIeT20yP9HKq3kw5w/s1600/SAM_0924.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOG3vIC6p6-V3TyVOnvvOM_qMPwITnYXD4wBucsHNVRlNButl1udfOE6rM2uUr500P30UaYXyPHrQKSp6SMpfUymSVM3AVec1ZJAZpAaodyjCKtQnpNS6FsfBOMcdIeT20yP9HKq3kw5w/s320/SAM_0924.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">This is something that's not very easy to take pictures for a step-by-step tutorial, because it's pretty self-explanatory. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2y_Zv6JOLXbwWb6TGnc8-gWzC-S-PMuFSdD0VyiF43gto2f3DCuoV9OJc_VXUMOp1IC3TZ7mG1_1E-7_IODwbHwAilKbcfe5y2SHl6HM7okBGZb1qUYwjwqBrM1AhGUvxPwB2LBAhHGk/s1600/SAM_0922.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2y_Zv6JOLXbwWb6TGnc8-gWzC-S-PMuFSdD0VyiF43gto2f3DCuoV9OJc_VXUMOp1IC3TZ7mG1_1E-7_IODwbHwAilKbcfe5y2SHl6HM7okBGZb1qUYwjwqBrM1AhGUvxPwB2LBAhHGk/s320/SAM_0922.jpg" width="289" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Basically, you just cut a piece of whatever you want a little bigger than the light switch cover. Then flip it over and use some mod podge to attach the paper to the switch plate. Since mine had a separate alien guy I also affixed him at this point. After it was stuck on I took my Xacto knife and cut in the rectangle hole in the center. I just needed the paper split enough to fold it back and add some mod podge to hold it down.<br />Once everything is stuck on good I do a layer of mod podge over the top to really keep it on. Make sure all the edges are folded around to the back and very secure. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Then, just let it dry really well and do another layer of mod podge to seal it. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk7czHvp7bremsKk_pYVfXzB7GYSjC93mV3yT66SWHyAKMs3h1F9abPpSfRNqGU_fd3kj4YYFNm044tnCJs9aRfMQGEca746DLxFXUXVwEnbBpLSKxbzFbaajItYwbf8ml8r-HHaxzTV0/s1600/SAM_0988.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk7czHvp7bremsKk_pYVfXzB7GYSjC93mV3yT66SWHyAKMs3h1F9abPpSfRNqGU_fd3kj4YYFNm044tnCJs9aRfMQGEca746DLxFXUXVwEnbBpLSKxbzFbaajItYwbf8ml8r-HHaxzTV0/s320/SAM_0988.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">For this Superman one I put on some tissue paper first then added the picture of him. As you can see, the screws stand out, because they're still the boring off white color, but you can paint them in a similar color and they'll look a lot better.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I think these would be great in a little boy's room, but I'm just using them in my living room for now. It's full of other geekery, so this fits in perfectly.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I've got plans to make lots more of these. I love the ability to use any images or pretty paper I can find. I'm imagining all sorts of possibilities.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #f1c232;">So a couple of weeks ago I made some laundry detergent (you can see that post <a href="http://pinterestadventures.blogspot.com/2012/01/homemade-laundry-detergent.html" target="_blank">here</a>), and I wanted to make fabric softener at the same time, but needed vinegar. I finally remembered to pick some up at the store, and immediately had to make the fabric softener.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Her post actually also has a liquid laundry detergent and an OxiClean recipe in it. I may try the OxiClean at some point too, but for this I was just interested in the fabric softener. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I've mentioned it before, but anything with just a few ingredients automatically is great in my book. This only takes white vinegar, conditioner, and water. </span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I used Pantene, but that's just because it's what I had on hand. Most others I've seen making this have just used whatever scent of Suave they prefer.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"> All you do to make this is stir 1 part vinegar and 1 part conditioner into 2 parts hot water. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">EASY PEASY! </span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I couldn't get my conditioner to dissolve completely, so my mixture looks lumpy, but it looks pretty uniform, so I'm not too worried about it.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I was excited to try it out, so I immediately gathered a load of laundry and put it in. I used 2 tbsp in my washer's liquid fabric softener section.</span></div>

<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;">Results:</span><span style="color: #f1c232;"> My clothes were soft. There wasn't really any scent left on them, which I'm still okay with. They smelled even cleaner than when I used only the homemade detergent, so I'm happy with that. They were fluffy when I pulled them out of the dryer, and felt like I'd used a commercial softener. I do use dryer sheets as well, but I got better results with this than with dryer sheets alone.<br /><br />Speaking of dryer sheets, I recently saw a pin that recommended cutting dryer sheets in half to make the box last twice as long.</span></div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/125326802100111077/" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" src="http://media-cdn.pinterest.com/upload/125326802100111077_ilZtKGiv_c.jpg" /></span></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #0b5394;">Source: <a href="http://thefrugalgirls.com/2010/01/save-money-on-laundry-cut-dryer-sheets-in-half.html">TheFrugalGirls.com</a> via <a href="http://pinterest.com/dinotoria">Victoria</a> on <a href="http://pinterest.com/">Pinterest</a></span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232; font-size: small;"><br /></span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Let me tell you, this works great! I feel like I've just been throwing money away for so long. I've seen where people have dipped a rag in fabric softener to make a reusable dryer sheet, but honestly, I'm not even going to go to all that trouble now that dryer sheets essentially cost me half as much as before.
</span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span><br />
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Overall I'm very satisfied with my homemade laundry pursuits. I may get some Unstopables at some point, because I love the smell of those, but I'm really not worried about adding extra scents to my stuff for now. I love the fresh, clean scent my clothes have without all the extra chemicals.</span><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I feel like today has flown by. I looked at the clock and it was 11:00, and I was shocked. I'm not sure where all the time went, but I feel like I was completely unproductive. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">So today's post is going to be extremely short, but you have lots to look forward to in the next few days.</span></div>

<span style="color: #f1c232;">So I haven't blogged in the past 2 days. So much for NaBloPoMo. I've got 2 blogs to post to make up for those days, but I'm not sure if they'll be up tonight or tomorrow. I plan on finishing out this month with enough posts for everyday, even if they didn't get up on every single day.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">For now though, Stream of Consciousness Sunday.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.allthingsfadra.com/" target="_blank" title="all.things.fadra"><img alt="#SOCsunday" border="0" src="http://allthingsfadra.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/SOCSunday-badge.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;"><b>Today’s Writing Prompt:</b> How did you spend your Sunday mornings growing up? What are some of your favorite memories?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Sunday mornings almost always involved church when I was growing up. I spent the weekends with my godmother, and I would be woken up on Sunday mornings to get ready for church. Usually there was some good breakfast waiting for me, and I'd watch whatever I could find on TV while I ate. Then I'd get ready and we'd go to church. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">After church we'd usually do some shopping and sometimes get something to eat. Sometimes we'd just head back home where we'd change into comfortable clothes and heat up leftovers while watching TV. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I've always liked the relaxed feeling that Sundays hold. I don't go to church now, so Sundays for me are all about sleeping in and relaxing all day. Lots of movie watching and video game playing happens on Sundays in my house. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;">—</span>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;">This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<ul>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, I would probably choose Skyline. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">If you've never heard of this, then you have to try it! Skyline is "Cincinnati Style Chili." It's very different than traditional chili. It's got a unique flavor, because it contains cinnamon and cocoa powder. It's good on hot dogs and french fries, but served on top of spaghetti noodles is my favorite way.<br />There are frozen Skyline meals available at some stores, but they're not nearly as good as the restaurants. Since I'm never in Ohio, I knew I needed to find a copy-cat recipe to get my fill. I can't remember what website I got this one from, but I tried it once and fell in love.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">This tastes almost exactly like what you'll find in the restaurant. I think even if they brought a skyline restaurant to Tennessee, I'd still make this, because it's just that good.</span></div>

<span style="color: #f1c232;">I prefer a 4-way bowl, which is the chili served on spaghetti noodles topped with onions, cheese, and oyster crackers. Some people like it with kidney beans as well, but I like it better without.</span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I usually cut the recipe in half, because it makes a lot for just 2 people. Sometimes I make the whole batch and the leftovers freeze great, it usually just depends on how much freezer space I have.</span><br />

<span style="color: #f1c232;">I saw <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/125326802100026035/" target="_blank">this</a> pin a couple of months ago, and thought it was really cute. I have way more cupcake pans than I could ever need, so I knew I wanted to do something along those lines. I've been holding off, trying to think of the perfect idea, and I decided to make a Valentine's Day cupcake pan.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZwZDzLFkK10beDdOhsIuYZ-NQbfte0i8fREqtCM3_N0DXD2usp28M-R4UzHOjCMz-9DKtxr3BLhwcvPZrk9yfRFBnaUSFnDhpTncd76LeBqDti-4HaL3bCb8EG8KemhLn7wlOJkpf2G0/s1600/Picnik+collage+v2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZwZDzLFkK10beDdOhsIuYZ-NQbfte0i8fREqtCM3_N0DXD2usp28M-R4UzHOjCMz-9DKtxr3BLhwcvPZrk9yfRFBnaUSFnDhpTncd76LeBqDti-4HaL3bCb8EG8KemhLn7wlOJkpf2G0/s640/Picnik+collage+v2.jpg" width="419" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">This didn't take long at all, and I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out. It took 2 coats of acrylic paint for the base. I splattered red all over it, and I like how that turned out. There's also a clear glitter paint over the whole thing, but you can't see that in pictures. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I'm already thinking of doing this for other holidays. (Yes, I have that many extra cupcake pans. lol.) I need to work on my free-hand lettering and drawing, but I still like this a lot.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Have you done anything creative with any extra pans you have? I'd love to hear your ideas.</span><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Since today was a school holiday, Garrett was at my house and I wanted to do something fun with him. I was pretty excited to try out this homemade bouncy ball. I ended up being very disappointed with it. I looked at many different e-how pages about doing this, but couldn't find any comments of anyone that had actually tried it. There were a couple of different "recipes" that I tried, but wasn't satisfied with either one.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Ingredients: </span></div>
<br />
<ul>
<li style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #f1c232;">1/2 tsp. borax</span></li>
<li style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #f1c232;">2 tbsp. water</span></li>
<li style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #f1c232;">1 tbsp. Elmer's glue</span></li>
<li style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #f1c232;">1 tbsp. cornstarch</span></li>

<span style="color: #f1c232;">I'm not sure how long it's supposed to take until it's considered a ball. <span style="color: #f1c232;">The second one (the blue one) I kneaded for a little while and it wouldn't really hold its form or bounce, so I gave up on it.</span></div>

<br />
<center><a href="http://www.allthingsfadra.com/" target="_blank" title="all.things.fadra"><img alt="#SOCsunday" border="0" src="http://allthingsfadra.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/SOCSunday-badge.jpg" /></a></center>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;"><b>Today’s Writing Prompt:</b> How does winter make you feel and what do you do with those feelings?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I am not a fan of winter. I used to like it more, but in the past few years I've disliked it more and more. I don't like having to put on layers and layers of clothes before leaving the house. I have to wear a hat or the cold air gives me a headache. Waiting for the car to warm up is the worst. If I didn't start it before I had to leave then I'm miserable for the beginning of the ride, and probably shivering the whole way. Once I get cold I can't warm up. I will still be shivering for hours after I've come in from outside. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I try not to let winter affect me, but it does make me much less likely to get out and do things. I just want to stay curled up in the house with a blanket all the time.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">The one thing I love about winter is the snow. I love days when it's snowing constantly. Too bad I live in Tennessee and we don't get days like that very often.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I decided to do this project even though I had no clue what I'd actually do with the marbles. I still don't have any ideas, but I'll think of something.<br /><br />After looking at <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/125326802100003389/" target="_blank">this</a> pin I found some marbles I've had sitting around for years and decided to try it out.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">You're going to want clear/translucent marbles. Most of mine had the colored swirls on the inside, and those are fine, but if it's a solid colored marble you won't be able to see the cracks.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Preheat your oven to 500°F. Place the marbles on a pan and bake for 20 minutes. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Before they're done prepare a metal bowl of ice water.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">As soon as you take them out dump them in the ice water. You'll hear them crack and you can take them out and see the shattered insides.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw-ngpFBJQxYkaPioR3z0w8pgq3UIEwnvYag46KjB2qb3t33-HhCALN-BFgRqigind0-3_3IlU58xdjELsgWQw0R3TDwj4BJLSDm5XMtAkIDvlGlnfiUsg12kV8XiD5CdQ2riHk38apwM/s1600/SAM_0738.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="216" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw-ngpFBJQxYkaPioR3z0w8pgq3UIEwnvYag46KjB2qb3t33-HhCALN-BFgRqigind0-3_3IlU58xdjELsgWQw0R3TDwj4BJLSDm5XMtAkIDvlGlnfiUsg12kV8XiD5CdQ2riHk38apwM/s320/SAM_0738.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">The outsides stay smooth for the most part, but I did have a couple of marbles that seemed to crack all the way to the outside. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">One problem I had was that they let out a smell when in the oven. On the forum I found the directions on the poster said there is absolutely no smell, so maybe it just had something to do with my marbles being really old. It wasn't too strong, but I opened my back door while they were baking just in case. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I can't decide if I liked this project or not. It was really easy, but I don't think the shattered look of the marbles is very noticeable unless you look closely. I think it's an interesting look and I'm glad I tried it, but I doubt I'd do it again.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Garrett turned 6 back in December, and he wanted to have a superhero party.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I'd browsed the internet for weeks looking for ideas for his party, and I'd seen Pin the Emblem/Cape on the Superhero suggested in a couple of places, but couldn't really find any ideas for how to do it.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I considered free-handing the superhero, but I wanted the kids to be able to tell it was a superhero and not just some random blob, so I knew I needed to go a different route.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I googled some different search terms to try and find a good picture to use, and found just what I wanted when I searched for "<a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=superhero+silhouette&hl=en&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=DwART6P0O86tgQeplP3gAw&ved=0CCEQsAQ&biw=1138&bih=499" target="_blank">superhero silhouette</a>." On the second page I found just what I wanted.</span></div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://bccdcrealestate.com/files/2011/01/bigstock_Superhero_silhouette_flies_up__7616387.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://bccdcrealestate.com/files/2011/01/bigstock_Superhero_silhouette_flies_up__7616387.jpg" width="240" /></span></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #f1c232;">Source: <a href="http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&sa=X&biw=1138&bih=499&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=o2PWDkL2aEle0M:&imgrefurl=http://bccdcrealestate.com/category/information-for-sellers/&docid=PmhvXY4Qi3JVVM&imgurl=http://bccdcrealestate.com/files/2011/01/bigstock_Superhero_silhouette_flies_up__7616387.jpg&w=675&h=900&ei=FAART5KCBYeSgQeU6v3PAw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=268&vpy=80&dur=27&hovh=259&hovw=194&tx=110&ty=114&sig=115574126575942626382&page=2&tbnh=132&tbnw=99&start=14&ndsp=14&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:14" target="_blank">Google Images</a></span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I was planning on printing the picture on multiple pages and gluing it to posterboard. I had trouble getting the image to print the way I wanted it to, but found through some more searching a website to help that. <a href="http://www.blockposters.com/" target="_blank">Block Posters</a> lets you take any image and stretch it as large as you want to make large posters. Perfect for what I needed! I printed it 3 sheets of paper wide, which made it a bit wider and longer than the posterboard, but I was okay with that. It hung over the edges a bit, but it looked fine. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Then I searched for different superhero emblems and printed a variety for the kids to choose from.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaQ2DEu8zqDhag-jGSFH5uC7es1xmugoQn8VCVmZROtOXB4SRuEgKskXzQLmHjKbZX0lxeQ5_eX6JYdUw9nThyUEfcd_mdUo6AIE4CexUqw8525Sb_Iiapkody8-7vRhSZ-ge6638rLl4/s1600/SAM_0721.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #f1c232;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaQ2DEu8zqDhag-jGSFH5uC7es1xmugoQn8VCVmZROtOXB4SRuEgKskXzQLmHjKbZX0lxeQ5_eX6JYdUw9nThyUEfcd_mdUo6AIE4CexUqw8525Sb_Iiapkody8-7vRhSZ-ge6638rLl4/s320/SAM_0721.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">If you look closely at the first picture you'll notice a square of paper under the cluster of emblems. This was so there was a set place for the emblems to be pinned. I should have done this on the computer, because the first one to go used the edges of the square to find where to put his emblem. I did think it was a pretty smart move, but not very challenging. </span></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">We only had 3 kids there (including the birthday boy), so they got to play this twice which they loved. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Another game we played was "Fly the BatPlane into the BatCave." I made paper airplanes ahead of time and decorated an empty box to look like a cave. They took turns standing behind a line and throwing their plane in, but none of them were very successful, so it became all 3 of them crowded around the box tossing their planes to see who got theirs in 5 times first. They had a lot of fun with it, even though it wasn't very structured.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Between all the games the kids got to "Punch a Villian" </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I made this punching game:</span></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/125326802100026069/" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://media-cdn.pinterest.com/upload/125326802100026069_VQAENj4m_c.jpg" width="232" /></a></td></tr>

</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">but I added villians' faces to each of the circles. The kids loved it! Once all the villians were defeated they had fun tearing it up even more. I forgot all about taking a picture of it until AFTER it was demolished.</span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I made this a few months ago, so I don't have any pictures of the process. It's only 2 ingredients though, so you don't need them anyway.</span></div>
<br />
<span style="color: #0b5394;">Mix together 2 cups of flour and 1/4 cup of baby oil. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">That's it!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">You can add in food coloring if you want, but the blog I found it on just kept it white, and I really think it's prettier that way. It seemed to take to the color weird, so it's a weird blue-green color, but Garrett doesn't seem to mind.<br /><br />This stuff is so fun! It's softer and fluffier than normal playdough. You can't really mold things with it because of that though. But it's fun just to squeeze and play with. It is a bit messier than playdough. It's sort of greasy feeling because of the baby oil, and it seems to be more crumbly. I'd be careful of what surfaces you put it on, and be aware that hands will be messy, but it's really nice feeling and moisturizes too. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">This stuff seems to last well. I made it 2 or 3 months ago, and it's held up great. I store it in a leftover mini oreo fun pak container, but I'd recommend a plastic bag or something, because it sinks down in the container and is hard to get out.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">There are some downsides to this, but I'd definitely recommend it as a bit of a change from normal playdough. I will be making it again in the future.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">Since I started the blog I realize I haven't told you a whole lot about me. I'm planning on a dedicated post about that sometime in the near future, but for now I'll tell you about someone very important to me. I have a 6 year old brother named Garrett. I'm almost 23, so if you do that math there are nearly 17 years between us! It's fun having such a huge age gap, because we get to form such a unique bond. I help out at his school multiple times a week, and pick him up and watch him every afternoon until my mom gets off work. </span></div>
<span style="color: #f1c232;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I love that I can do all the fun "kid stuff" I pin on Pinterest without having any kids of my own. </span></div>

<span style="color: #f1c232;">An idea I've seen before, but can't find it pinned on any of my boards is to ask your children questions every year and make a memory book of sorts out of it. I love this idea. I have a paper from the 4th grade where I wrote what some of my favorites at the time were, and I love looking back on it. It would be great to have it for every year of my childhood.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">So I decided to make a printable sheet of basic questions to ask Garrett. His birthday was a month ago, and I'd wanted to do it by then, but it completely slipped my mind. It's better late than never, though, so I got to thinking up some good questions and typed something up on Picnik. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;">I printed it out and sat down with Garrett to get some answers. I had him write everything (with my help with spelling), because I think it will be fun to see how his handwriting changes every year. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="color: #f1c232;">His name is in the left circle, and his age is in the star in the center. I also wrote the date we actually did it underneath the star.</span>

<span style="color: #f1c232;">Some of these answers came as a complete surprise. He's never told my mom or me about any desire to work on cars, but that's what he decided on when I asked him. And his favorite color seems to change every week, but it's usually blue, black, or red, never white. I really liked doing this activity, and can't wait to do it again next year.</span></div>
